Project description: Crisis Control in Public Spaces (CCPS) is a collaboration of Thales and Logica-CMG, WCC, Cognitec and the Community of Utrecht. The aim of the project is to setup a collaborative environment in which intelligent processing of video - and camera images is executed in a surveillance environment. Logica will build a platform which enables TNO and UvA to demonstrate and evaluate their ICIS research results in practice. The aim is to provide an open and flexible system that offers support in camera surveillance environments. In the near future the technology of face recognition will be incorporated with a video management and analysis systems. The system will benefit any organization that has a camera based surveillance assignment. It will for example support the security officers in detecting a crisis in time or even beforehand and decide on the appropriate measures. The system will offer assistance in distributing the essential information to the designated partner in the security chain while providing measures to guarantee the right of privacy of each individual in the public space.
