Project description:

There is no single medium that is always optimal for conveying all kinds of information. Users should be able to interact with computer systems using a pen interface to write or draw with or for pointing, in addition to (or instead of) typing on a keyboard or speaking. But pen interfaces in their own right can generate quite different types of information. The various forms of input, such as pointing, handwriting or routes drawn on a map, have to be recognised and relayed to the system as they are being entered by the user.
